12 years ago today, on July 15th of 2002, a 53 foot sailboat named Lightning, set out from Port Huron, Michigan with 11 crew members onto Lake Huron for the 253 Nautical mile race up the east coast of Michigan.

30 hours, 34 minutes and 32 seconds later, the Lightning was the 1st across the finish line and was declared the winner in the 78th annual Port Huron-to-Mackinac Island Sailboat Race.

The captain and owner of the boat is a man you know. Bob Seger, an American classic.

Lets listen to one of his best. Like A Rock.
