It’s been reported that Oscar winning actor Ernest Borgnine has passed away, due to renal failure at Ceders-Sanai hospital surrounded by his wife and children.  He was 95 years old.

Borgnine played the character of Fatso Judson, and beat Frank Sinatra to death in “From Here to Eternity”, he also survived in “The Poseidon Adventure”, he didn’t survive an army of rats in “Willard”, and he won his Oscar for his role as a lovestruck butcher in the 1955 film “Marty”.

He was in numerous movies and television shows, but I will always remember Ernest Borgnine the most from the 1960′s series “McHales Navy“.

Ernest really was a Navy man, he served for 10 years before acting.

Borgnine, with his friend and McHale’s Navy co-star Tim Conway, did the voices of Mermaid Man, and Barnacle Boy on “Spongebob Squarepants”.

He was a great actor and a very funny man… Ernest once shared his secret for a long life and career with the crew at Fox News…

Thanks for the entertainment Ernest Borgnine, Rest In Peace.
