American Idol Coming To Fort Caspar

We told you yesterday (8/1/12) that American Idol’s online auditions were set to begin, according to information on americanidol.com – but for some reason, they’ve yet to start accepting video auditions, and as of  this moment, details are still vague on the upcoming Casper stop, which is now less than a week away.

According to Idol’s website, “Online auditions for Season 12 will be open from Wednesday, Aug. 1 through Tuesday, Aug. 14. Hopefuls will have the opportunity to audition by submitting an audition video online.  Entrants should demonstrate their stellar singing ability by choosing one of the songs from the approved list and performing it a cappella.”

However, the method to actually submit audition videos, and the aforementioned “approved list” of songs for hopeful contestants have yet to be posted, as of Thursday, August 2.  There’s also been zero public information posted about the “Small Town Bus Tour” auditions in any of their previously announced cities, which is scheduled to make a Casper stop on August 8.

Several people have commented on Idol’s site about their frustrations with the process so far, particularly with the short timeline for both online and in-person small town auditions, leaving very little time for preparation, rehearsing, travel, etc.  There are reports of  site moderators saying that online audition details will be posted “by the end of the week”.

We’ll continue to keep you posted, but as of now – all we know that Idol has reached out to Casper city officials to confirm the August 8 appearance, short notice or not.  Better keep your singing voices warmed up, you may have to use them quickly!
