John Riggs was born and raised in Yakima. He moved away from Washington state for about 10 years, but moved back home, bringing along his wife and three kids. You'll find John in town snapping photos when he's covering new business openings, especially restaurants. He loves to help spread the word, and to encourage folks to shop local first. John also loves to travel, always looking for quick weekend getaways, attending events, and fan expos around the country. Don't be too shy to say, "Hi!"

For Valentine’s Day, Consider The Gift of Something Handmade
Valentine's Day is coming up Feb. 14. It shouldn't be a surprise, but it seems to creep up quickly if you're a guy, for some reason. It takes a bit of planning and prepping, but this year maybe you should consider something homemade. Even if it's not from you, you could commission someone to make something for you. That's how I got this awesome hat!
Did You Know The Blocks and Bricks in Super Mario Bros Used to Be People?
The original Super Mario Bros. is one of my favorite video games of all time. It paved the way for so many video games afterwards. You play the role of a common man trying to save the princess in a magical kingdom with a 'Alice in Wonderland' feel of eating mushrooms make you grow taller, travel across land and sea, smash bricks that were made of people.
Wait -- the bricks in Super Mario Bros were
Super Bowl Commercial Brings Pac-Man to Life [VIDEO]
Super Bowl commercials have been almost as important as the game itself for the past several years. Advertisers know that most of America will be watching so they pay big bucks to get their brand out there in a creative fashion. A Super Bowl tradition, Budweiser, has been entertaining fans of creative commercials for the past several years. This year, we'll see one that features a live-action Pac-
Listeria Outbreak in Washington State – How To Stay Safe
I heard about the Listeria outbreak just a few hours ago in my hometown of Yakima, Washington that took the life of one and put two others in the hospital, as of when I'm typing this. Will it come to Wyoming?
Casper, Wyoming Gets Mentions in Comedy Central Show ‘@Midnight’
One of my favorite shows in @Midnight on Comedy Central. It's a mock-gameshow where the contestants are comedians poking fun at viral headlines and videos of the day. The idea behind the game they were playing here is to come up with a sentence based on the emojis on the screen. It's always cool when you hear someone mention Casper, Wyoming on TV.
Grandmother Receives ‘iPhone’ for Christmas — Relieved It Was Actually Chocolate
We've all been in that awkward situation where you have to show appreciation for that gift you didn't really want. That's what happened to this grandmother. She didn't want an iPhone, but now she has one. What's inside the box, though, is hilarious.
How to Solve a Rubik’s Cube Without Removing the Stickers
I've always been fascinated by the Rubik's Cube. Anyone can twist the tiles around and try to get the colors to match, but without a few tricks or turning algorithms it may be hard to get it back where all walls have a solid color.
I found a website that will solve your Rubik's Cube for you.
Trying a Bite of 25-Year-Old TMNT Cereal
I have a few old boxes of cereal from my youth. One of them was one that was very memorable to me -- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cereal. It came out in 1989 during the height of its popularity. Let's see if it holds up! (Spoiler alert: it doesn't)
Welcome to the ‘Frozen’ Room — The Room Most Families Had on Christmas Evening
At one of our family get-togethers Christmas night, I heard the sounds of a very familiar song. "Let It Go," from the movie "Frozen," sung in five-part harmony. The kids were belting out it from one of the rooms. I have to wonder if other houses have a kids' room like this, where the kids can go to escape cheek-pinching aunts and boring conversations from grown-ups.
Man Receives Awesome Gift After Meeting a Girlfriend of a Seahawks Player [VIDEO]
This guy happened to be showing his 12th Man pride when a girl approached and asked him to take a photo of herself wearing his jacket. When he asked why, she said she wanted to send the picture to her boyfriend -- running back Robert Turbin. The fan wanted to get something signed in return. This is what he received.
When In Doubt, Get the Child a Roll of Quarters for Christmas
Still need a gift for that hard-to-buy-for child? You don't want to get them the same toy or video game as some other kid, but you don't want to ask other parents what they got their kids.
When in doubt, get them a roll of quarters.
Who Stuffs Your Stockings at Your House? [POLL]
No, it's not an innuendo, I want to know how the stockings are stuffed at your place. Take the poll and let me know.
