With the exception of the west, the state will still be under the influence of high pressure today through the first half of Friday.  In the northwest a cold front starts to move in today which will lead to mixed showers and snow.  A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for western Wyoming and around the Sheridan area tonight through Friday night.   Several inches of snow are expected to accumulate there, with upwards to one foot of snow in the higher elevations.  Elsewhere today the weather will be dry, mild and breezy.

Southwest winds pick up on Friday ahead of the cold front.  Some areas along I-80 could see wind gusts from 50 to 60 mph at times.  Snow will continue to fall in the northwest and spread south and east by the afternoon.

The front continues  to track south late Friday into Saturday morning.  During that time snow showers will spread into central and southern Wyoming.  The snow will be accompanied by wind, which will make for reduced visibility and challenging traveling conditions.

Saturday will be a sharply colder day statewide with snow continuing in most areas.  The weekend rounds out with additional lighter snow on Sunday morning and even colder temperatures.
