Saturday night at the Parkway Hotel and Convention Center the Wyoming Blues & Jazz Society had a wonderful Blues Holiday get together. The Society hosted Rick Estrin & the Nightcats. Estrin fronted his old band Little Charlie & the NIghtcats for more than 30 years and brought his new line up to Casper. Estrin's harmonica playing is reminiscent of Little Walter, Paul Butterfield and John Mayal and Estrin is considered one of the best harp players, singers and blues songwriters in the genre. Coupled with Chris "Kid" Anderson's guitar playing and a tight stand up base from Lorenzo Farrell the band was smokin' hot the entire evening. Those that were there were treated to some of the tightest blues on the planet. Those that were not....well you really missed out.
