This past weekend the Counselors from all over the State of Wyoming met in Casper for thier annual convention. Three days of workshops, speakers and networking for Therapists, School Counselors and students brought together a divergent group of professionals from all corners of the Cowboy State. Saturday night during the groups final dinner. The group handed out thier Richard R. Means/ MIddle School Counselor of the Year Award. This award recognizes accomplishments at the K-9 level. Dick Means started his career as a school counselor, then served as the Director of Testing at Casper College until his retirement.

This year the Richard R. Means Service Award was given to Ashley Bright, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming, for leadership within the community promoting the expansion of the Club, it's services and it's outreach to children in schools ranging from food programs to sports programs to tutoring to support of academic success. He has his own rags to Club story as he himself based his life story from a Boys Club to later becoming a successful CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Wyoming. Bright said; "I'm humbled by this award. There are so many in our organization that worked so hard to accomplish so much for the Boys & Girls Clubs that I accept this for them."
