A Casper woman accused of involvement in a methamphetamine distribution ring was arraigned on a felony charge Thursday in Natrona County District Court.

Brandy Jo Darland, 31, pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine. She could face up to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $25,000 if convicted.

Charging papers allege Darland was involved in a drug trafficking ring run by Christopher Eads and a close friend of his. The affidavit, which details the course of an investigation by special agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, includes text messages allegedly sent and received by Darland.

In those text messages, Darland allegedly arranged drug sales. DCI agents reportedly used electronic surveillance methods to determine that Darland traveled with two others to Denver, Colorado, on August 4.

That trip, authorities say, corresponds with information that another person allegedly involved with drug trafficking was purchasing large quantities of meth for resale in the Casper area.

Darland remains free on bond pending trial.
