Rehabilitation work is set to begin Monday, March 19 on the I-25 bridges from Curtis Street to Poplar Street.

In a news release, WYDOT says crews will first close the passing lanes in both directions to begin removing the center barriers for the purpose of making crossover lanes.

Traffic will be reduced to the outside or driving lanes. Access to ramps will be maintained, but the speed limit will be dropped to 45 mph. This phase should take about a week.

With the crossover lanes in place, crews will then move traffic to the northbound lanes, with one lane in either direction, so that work can commence on the southbound bridges.

Access to on- and off-ramps will be maintained, with the exception of the northbound exit ramp at Bryan Stock Trail. Traffic wishing to exit at Bryan Stock Trail will have to use the McKinley Street exit ramp.

All on-ramp traffic will be required to stop before merging onto the interstate, and interstate traffic of course has the right-of-way.

For the duration of the construction, the speed limit will remain at 45 mph.

Construction is expected to be finished by Oct. 31.
