I sat in a small room late Saturday night, late, and watched a small 33' color television, while I made my date very unhappy and had my question about the Wyoming Men's Basketball teams answered. Answered! I asked on this site numerous times: "Are the Cowboys that good or are they playing lesser opponents."? My question was answered Saturday night as the University of Wyoming Men's Basketball team remained undefeated while they took down the number nineteenth ranked team in the country in the Colorado Buffaloes by ten points 69-76. And they are doing it on defense.

The Pokes shut down Colorado's leading scorer Askia Booker, who had only six points. The look on his face was priceless as numerous Cowboys played in your face defense while Wyoming Alumni (and inventor of the jump shot they say) Kenny Sailor (who was roommates with my dad William Shutts at UW) looked on in appreciation. All of this with 3 teams from the Mountain West Conference ranked in the top 25 of College Athletics. Long row to hoe as they say in the Cowboy State. But Coach Larry Shyatt's team is beginning to create their own national buzz with the national media receiving 5 first place votes in the AP voting. Now can they maintain it? The proof will be on the hard wood.
