I don't know it any one notices it over the past weekend but our beloved Cowboy Football team dropped to 1-4 (and 0-1 in the conference) on the season and to put it mildly are "Struggling!" They dropped their second over time game in two weeks to Nevada 35-28. And there appear to be no reasons for the terrible start coming from the Pokes coaching staff. There were some bright spots to the cowboys fourth loss. Wyoming's sophomore quarterback Brett Smith went 21-for-34 for 197 yards and three touchdowns, and junior wide receiver Robert Heron had four catches for 27 yards and two scores. Smith added a score on the ground to account for four touchdowns.. The Cowboys were able to generate350 yards of offense, but couldn't slow a high-powered Nevada (5-1 overall, 2-0 MW) attack that rolled up 565 yards. Wolf Pack quarterback Devin Combs tossed a 24-yard touchdown pass on the second play of overtime, and Nevada forced three straight in completions from Wyoming reserve QB Jason Thompson to end the conference opener for UW.

So what's a team to do? Hopefully get better at home this coming Saturday hosting the Air Force Academy (2-3 overall) in Laramie. And because it's a night game kicking off at 5:05 might help the Cowboys a little as well. I hope.
