I wait for basketball season to start. Specifically college hoops. Great drama, incredible athleticism, cerebral coaching, and just good fun. Well now it's here and the Wyoming Cowboys are either real good, playing easy teams or a combination of both. I haven't figured out exactly which as of yet. However they are six games into thier season and haven't lost a game yet. And last Saturday night Head Coach Larry Shyatt's came to play as they rolled over Cal State Bakersfield 63-49 and are undefeated. Now are they playing any one yet? No you don't see Duke or North Carolina on the pre-conference schedule but then again they are not playing St. Mary's School for the Blind. What they are doing is playing some in your face defense and Senior Leonard Washington (13 points) and senior Luke Martinez (11 points) are expected to do what they do best. Contribute. But what seems to be bonus for this seasons Cowboys are names like Larry Nance Jr, Derek Cooke Jr, and Riley Grabau (Who?) are coming to play and contributing. Now all we have to do is see where they are come Conference time. The Pokes will play U.C. Santa Barbara on the road Wednesday. Game can be caught and listened to on our sister station AM 1030 KTWO.
