Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball’s sophomore middle blocker Erin Kirby was named the Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Co-Player of the Week announced Monday by the conference office. She earned the honor for the first time in her career.

Kirby a native of Evanston, Wyo., helped the Cowgirls to a 2-0 record over the weekend defeating Fresno State in straight sets on Thursday, while also downing UNLV in four sets on Saturday. Against the Bulldogs, she hit .700 with seven kills and no errors on 10 attacks. She also recorded six blocks against Fresno State. Against the Rebels she recorded 11 kills and no errors on 22 attacks for a percentage of .500. She also blocked eight attacks against the Rebels. Kirby led the Cowgirls in hitting percentage in both matches. On the weekend, she hit an average of .562 (18-0-32). She also averaged 2.57 kills and two blocks per set.

Earning Co-Player of the Week honors with Kirby was Colorado State senior middle Megan Plourde.
