‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special Pics Reveal New TARDIS Interior

Any fan of 'Doctor Who' knows that the iconic blue box TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimension in Space) is every bit as memorable as the Doctor who inhabits it, from Sylvester McCoy to Matt Smith. Fans also know that the coming 'Doctor Who' Christmas special "The Snowmen" will introduce a number of changes to the series, including a new companion and re-vamped title sequence, but did you know the episode will see a makeover of the TARDIS interior? 'Doctor Who's' TARDIS has become so instantly memorable that some fans devote entire rooms of their home to re-creating the famous interstellar vehicle. Yet when 'Doctor Who' continues its seventh series with upcoming Christmas special "The Snowmen," the ship's interior will seem nigh-unrecognizable.

The BBC has released new photos from the upcoming episode, one of which highlights the complete interior makeover to the famous TARDIS, crafting a simpler, whiter design akin to previous Doctors like Tom Baker and Peter Davison. The new design will debut along with Jenna-Louise Coleman as the Doctor's new companion Clara on Christmas day.
