The February 17th issue of Rolling Stone Magazine will feature an interview with Elton John, in which Elton gets into Billy's personal life. Elton acknowledged that Billy will probably "hate" him for speaking so openly about his problems. Well, it turns out Billy isn't offended at all.

In a statement provided by his spokeswoman to ABC News Radio, Billy states, "I've worked with Elton for such a long time and I've enjoyed our relationship too much to let something as random as these comments change my affection for him. Elton is just being Elton."

Elton is sending some tough love Billy's way, in an effort to help his friend deal with his illnesses, and "alcoholism" that has caused the cancellation of shows in the past.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Elton urges Billy to seek treatment in rehab and "do something better" with his life.  Elton also says he feels as though Billy is "coasting" because he hasn't released an original album of pop songs since 1993.  Elton tells the magazine, "I always say, 'Billy, can't you write another song?' It's either fear or laziness. It upsets me. Billy's a conundrum."
