Fox announced Monday, that the animated series The Simpsons, has been renewed for its 27th and 28th seasons.

The message was delivered by Homer Simpson and reads:

“I've outlasted Letterman, Jon Stewart and ‘McDreamy,’ because I have something they don’t: a costly 200-donut-a-day addiction.”

Of course David Letterman and Jon Stewart are leaving their late night shows this year.

"McDreamy," the character played by Patrick Dempsey on Grey's Anatomy, was killed off the ABC drama two weeks ago.

The Simpsons, made their debut on Fox in 1989. Its the longest running scripted show in television history. By the end of the 28th season the show will have aired 625 episodes.

The 26th season is averaging 6 million viewers per episode, according to the network.
