A cooler air mass has settled across the state.  This is some much welcome news for the fire fighting efforts.  Today and over the weekend, daytime highs will be mainly in the 70s and 80s.

In addition, a flow of atmospheric moisture coming up from the south, the annual monsoon flow of moisture, will bring in much better chances for showers and thunderstorms.  This will especially be the case in the south.  However, all areas of  the state will be in a better position to see at least a few scattered showers and thunderstorms today through Sunday.  Be aware that some of these showers and thunderstorms could produce very heavy rain.
