For the first two years of its existence, the Governor's Ball Festival has been a haven for indie rock, hip-hop and electronic music lovers. This year's incarnation, however, will get a dose of old-fashioned rock n' roll, with Guns N' Roses named as one of the headliners.

The festival will take place from June 7-9 on Randall's Island in New York City. Although the schedule will not be announced until the spring, we do know that the other headliners are Kanye West and Kings of Leon. Also on the bill are such popular acts as Nas, the Avett Brothers, Kendrick Lamar and the Lumineers.

It makes perfect sense that GNR would headline. Not only are they one of the biggest acts in rock history, but, by closing out a night's worth of music, their habitual lateness will not affect the rest of the schedule.

General Admission 3-day tickets and VIP packages are currently on sale. Organizers will run shuttles from Brooklyn and ferries from Manhattan to get patrons to the island. For more information, visit the festival's website.
