Wyoming became the 44th state to join the union on this day in 1890. We are the 10th largest state in the union, but with just over 550,000 residents, we have the smallest population of all of them, Millions of tourists visit Wyoming every year to see one of the most popular national parks in the country,Yellowstone National Park. When the Lewis & Clark party first described the area, people thought they were really stretching the truth.

Wyoming became a state on this day in 1890.  Back then, it was the desolate home to a few hundred hardscrabble frontier folk.  But now look.  Okay.  Bad example.
