Hot Asphalt Awareness For Dogs

Did you know even when it's only 77 degrees, the asphalt temperature is 125 degrees!

The Mutt Room has some great information for dog walkers. The best rule is not to walk your dogs during the heat of the day. Even if you think the air temp is not hot, the asphalt is. Here is a handy dandy guide:

77 degrees equal to 125 degrees

86 degrees equal to 135 degrees

87 degrees equal to 143 degrees

Press the back of your hand firmly on asphalt and hold it for 7 seconds to verify it will be comfortable for your dog. Best bet is to wait during the summer for evening or early in the morning.
