Texas A&M alum Lt. Col. Roy Tisdale, was killed in action, and plans had been made to bury him at home when the Westboro Baptist Church announced that they would be protestin his funeral.

Upon hearing that the protestors planned to attend, A&M students stood up, and put together a Facebook page and spread the word that they wanted to create a “maroon wall”… and that is exactly what happened…

More than 500 students and A&M alumni gathered arm in arm, with backs to the family in respect of their privacy, and they created a maroon wall.  After all of their threats, the Westboro people never showed up, and Lt. Colonel Tisdale was laid to rest with the honor and dignity he deserves.
