As a kid growing up in the 60's in Wyoming. I came to Bob Dylan's music through one of my best friends. Listening to Dylan in the 60's was powerful. Then I got to see him sing, with Joan Baez, in the middle of Greenwich Village in New York on a hot August night.  Right now one of the hottest items for "Dylan" fans is the new "Basement Tapes" that he did in the 60's with Robbie Robertson and the Band. I had a cassette boot leg copy of these songs in 1970. In his musical career Dylan has morphed from an iconic troubadour to the voice of the people to, well, Bob Dylan. I've seen him numerous times. The most recent was in Casper Wyoming. My 20 year old son and I crowded the stage, set up on a baseball field, to watch Dylan run through a set of music that only Dylan would present. It was an emotional night. To watch my musical/political hero of my youth sing his politically powerful words, standing next to my son was a real moment for me. Now he's getting something he loathes.
