Memorial Day weekend is HUGE for motorsports, with the Indy 500 and the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.  In the Indianapolis 500 the win went to Dario Franchitti, and in the Coca-Cola 600 Kasey Kahne got win number 201 for Hendrick Motorsports.

The day of racing began with the 96th running of the Indy 500.  Dario Franchitti claimed his third Indy 500 victory, and dedicated his win to the late Dan Wheldon who was killed in the final race of the 2011 season.  Wheldon won the Indy 500 last year.
