Kid Rock Is Turning 40 On Monday

Kid Rock is celebrating his 40th birthday with thousands of  fans at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, two days before his actual birthday. In July Kid Rock is confirmed at Cheyenne Frontier Days. More information on that show at cfdrodeo.com.

Kid Rock was born Robert James Ritchie on Jan. 17, 1971, in Romeo, Mich., a small town in a rural area about 50 miles north of Detroit. He developed a musical style that mixed Detroit hip hop and rock with country.

The guest list for Saturday's show is uncertain. Kid Rock told reporters in November he was inviting as many other performers as he could, hoping to "make it a different kind of concert,  like a celebration of music and our city and all the good things here."
