Metallica enjoyed one of the year's bigger single-destination festivals with their inaugural Orion Music + More festival this past June and they now plan on bringing it back for year two … but in a different location. Rather than staging it again in Atlantic City, the band will pack up the festival and move to Detroit for 2013.

James Hetfield previously told Blabbermouth, "I would love for it to be an annual thing and become an established festival that people can come to and know it's going to be good, no matter what. It'll be a fun place to be and hang and see some of the other things that are going to be happening, whether it's a car show or the movie tent that Lars is doing or Kirk's haunted mansion." At the time, Hetfield discussed the possibility that if they continued that the site might move or the festival could expand to more than a two-day event.

At present, it's still expected to be a two-day run with June 8 and 9 locked down for 2013. Full details on where the event will take place and the acts involved in the festival will be revealed in February.

Metallica may have even more to promote when the festival comes around next year. The band has been working on a 3D concert film and they recently re-entered the studio to start recording the follow-up to their 2008 'Death Magnetic' album.
