It was 2005 when Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller blew audiences away with their gritty, film noir-looking comic book adaptation ‘Sin City.’ Between the visual style, how incredibly faithful it was to the source material, we never had seen anything like it. So why has it taken them so long to finally go ahead with ‘Sin City 2′?

Ever since ‘Sin City’ was released, fans have been whining about wanting to see a sequel. After all, Rodriguez and company put together a film that more than likely was an influence for other close-to-the-book comic book adaptations like ‘Watchmen.’ It just felt like they put it together so effortlessly, but in actuality it was a big struggle to even get it greenlit. Now that they had a hit on their hands, what do they do? They talk about making the sequel for almost a decade.

Now they’re putting their money where their mouth is and are finally moving forward with ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.’ This is the sequel they’ve been planning on doing for awhile, the one that was rumored to have Angelina Jolie in the cast as the seductive and manipulative Ava. While we may not know who is going to play the bombshell beauty, Collider reports that Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson are back, reprising their roles as Marv and Gail.

Then there’s the question about who else from the original cast will come back. Clive Owen could possibly come back as Dwight, but the big problem is that in ‘A Dame To Kill For’ Dwight has his old face up until the ending. Either they’ll use the power of makeup to fix up his face or cast another person. Either way, color us excited that they’re finally moving forward with this sequel. Fingers crossed that this doesn’t fall apart. Fingers and toes crossed.
