Friday Night Lights! High School Football at it's finest. Two undefeated teams battling each other to the final play of the game with the number one ranking and home field advantage in the playoffs, riding on the outcome. And it was the home town kids....the NCHS Mustangs...that prevailed. Final score on the score board read 20 - 17 in an absolute battle of two well coached 4A football teams.  Mustang's Dan Reese buried Gillette senior running back Taylor Bigelow for a 4-yard loss with 16.8 seconds left in the game, putting the finishing touches on a battle of epic proportions. The Camels junior quarterback were able to torch the best defense in the state for 329 yards and a touchdown. But the Mustangs defense rallied when it counted holding the Camels from scoring on their final drive setting up a last ditch 44 yard field goal attempt that fell short allowing the Mustang's to go 9-0 on the regular season celebrating an undefeated regular season for the seniors.

The Kelly Walsh Trojans blew a three touch down lead against cheyenne central allowing Cheyenne to wear down the Trojans defense and coming away with a huge 27-21road victory over the Trojans giving the fighting green a final 4-5 regular season record and having to go on the road for their first 4! play off game. Now the playoff match ups are set.
