With the playoffs just around the bend in 4A High School Football the NCHS Mustangs are putting themselves in a position of....well...strength. Or dare I say domination? Tonight the Mustangs (8-0) increased their lead over all other 4A teams in the state,  maintaining their undefeated status with a 56-0 annihilation  of the Laramie Plainsman (1-7) in Laramie. Not a good homecoming night for the Laramie seniors. And here's a little nugget of information about the game. Half time score was....check this one out....53-0. So far this year no one...and I mean no one....has had an answer for stopping senior Brecken Briggs who had his ninth interception on defense and four touchdowns (one rushing) on offense. Dudes a Beast! And the Mustang's team defense held another 4A team scoreless for the entire game. Not the first time that unit's done that this season. Incredible offense, remarkable defense, motivated seniors... sets up the Mustang's ultimate game of the regular season....against their arch Nemesis from the North...the (8-0) Gillette Camels, next Friday at 7pm, at Cheney Alumni field.

Across town the (4-4) Kelly Walsh Trojans had a slow first half defensively against the (6-2) and #3 ranked team in 4A, the Sheridan Broncs. Sheridan ruined the Trojans homecoming holding on in the second half for a 20-10 victory at Harry Geldien Stadium. The Trojans dug themselves a 13-0 half time deficit that they couldn't over come in the second half. Kelly Walsh hosts (4-4) Cheyenne Central next friday with the winner being number 5 for the playoffs.
