NASCAR Driver Jason Leffler Killed in Dirt Track Crash [VIDEO]
Sad news from Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey. NASCAR driver Jason Leffler was killed tonight in a Sprint Car accident while participating in the "Night of Wings" event at the 5/8 mile high banked oval track.
While participating in the Sprint Car race, he was involved in an accident that sent his car flipping on the front-stretch. He was cut from the car and sent by helicopter to Cooper Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

Leffler had his first NASCAR Sprint Cup start of 2013 last Sunday (June 9) in Pocono, where he finished in last Place. He had two wins on the Nationwide Series, and had competed in 5 "Brickyard 400" races, and in the 2000 Indianapolis 500 he finished 17th.

He was one of the most versatile race drivers in America, showing his talent by competing in the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during his career. He also displayed the skills that would help him reach the top levels of the sport by winning four USAC national series titles while winning on tracks throughout the Midwest. Jason was a terrific guy who always had time for everyone. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his entire family, team and fans."
Jason Leffler was 37-years-old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fans. May he rest in peace.
