The path that the NCHS Mustangs Football team has chosen to walk towards the Class 4A State football playoffs is truly astounding. No one. No one has come close to beating this version of the NCHS Football team. This was a goal these young athletes established when they were doing work outs by them selves back in the summer. This group of athletes has literally risen above even their own expectations. And today, they made a statement, along the way towards their 11th win. This version of the NCHS Mustangs came out and performed flawlessly in eliminating the Sheridan Broncs 27-0.

The Mustangs at 11-0 advances to it's third consecutive title game and the fourth in the last five years. The Mustangs will face Gillette at the War in Laramie next weekend for a shot at the state 4A title. Gillette took down Cheyenne East in double overtime 34-31. The Mustangs, instead of throwing the ball, relied on their size, attempting only seven passes all game.

In terms of the NC/Gillette match up. The Mustangs pummeled Gillette, at home, in Gillette, 47-7 in Week 3. But a lot hase changed for both teams. Next week will give the Mustangs an opportunity to end a memorable era in Mustang football.
