Pink Floyd Ends Their Legal Fight With EMI, And Re-Sign With Label
Pink Floyd has ended their legal battle with record label EMI, and signed a new five-year deal. This comes after the Floyd Boys successfully argued their previous contract with EMI didn't allow the label to sell individual tracks from their catalog as digital downloads.
The BBC reports that, according to EMI this new deal will "help the band reach new fans through their incredible body of work." However former EMI bands including The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Queen, and Paul McCartney have refused to re-sign with the label since they were taken over by the private equity firm Terra Firma in 2007.
