Casper police and other agencies are pursuing leads in the robbery of a bank branch inside a west-side grocery store on Tuesday, Sgt. Mike Ogden said Wednesday.

About 4 p.m. Tuesday, a male suspect approached the counter of the First Interstate Bank branch at Albertsons, 1076 CY Ave., and took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a police news release late Tuesday.

Since the report of the robbery, law enforcement agencies have been receiving tips and reviewing Facebook posts about the suspect, Ogden said. Law enforcement agencies include the police, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the FBI.

Bank robberies are federal crimes, and the local and state agencies are assisting the FBI, Ogden said.

The suspect is a white male about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 230 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a black long sleeved t-shirt with "American Eagle" on the front, dark framed glasses and a black baseball style cap. He also had a brown mustache and goatee.

The teller at the bank branch did not see any weapon on the suspect, Ogden said Wednesday.
