You see them all the time on social media - math problems or math riddles.  However a recent math problem is going viral and has received lots of guesses as to the correct answer.  This latest question about a man buying and selling a horse, should be easy for someone in Wyoming, right?

The riddle about a man buying and selling a horse, reads:

A man buys a horse for $60.  He sells the horse for $70.  He then buys the horse back for $80 and sells it again for $90.  In the end, how much money did the man make or lose? Or did he break even?

This is actually a math question that most people over think because it's actually two separate transactions for the same horse in this riddle.

The man bought a horse for $60 and sold it for $70. The man then bought the horse again and sold it again, which is a seperate transaction from the first. So the math looks like this:

(-$60) + $70 = $10 profit.  Then he did it again (-$80) + $90 = $10 profit and when you add up the results from the two transactions the man made $10 in each transaction. So $10 + $10 = $20, the man made $20.
