Forget snakes on plane — now we’ve got bats invading our airlines.

Last Friday, passengers on an Atlanta-bound Delta flight felt like they were in an airborne Gotham City when a bat emerged from the cabin, giving travelers quite a start.

The critter flapped up and down the aisles for a bit before someone in the back row trapped it in the plane’s lavatory. The flight returned to its originating airport in Madison, Wisconsin, where a maintenance worker reportedly managed to get the bat out of the plane and back into the wild. The little guy is now earning his frequent-flier miles the old-fashioned way.

One passenger had the foresight to whip out his phone and videotape the ordeal for CNN’s iReport. Take a look:
