Over the weekend I had dinner with some friends (yeah, I don’t live in the internet; crazy, right?) and the topic of the Toni Erdmann remake came up, which led to brainstorming which writers and directors might be perfect for taking on a three-hour German father-daughter relationship comedy (Sarah Polley) — and which ones will likely wind up with the job (someone like Larry Charles or Paul Feig, I bet). And while Jack Nicholson emerging from retirement is super exciting, one friend suggested that, since the film doesn’t even have a script or director yet, Nicholson will back out at the last minute and the role will go to Bill Murray. As it turns out, what really happened was sort of the reverse.

A recent preview of the Ghostbusters LEGO set revealed not only the trusty ol’ Ecto-1, but an interesting new vehicle — the Ecto-2. We weren’t sure if the motorcycle would be making an appearance in the film, or if it was simply a fun bonus for the toy set. Sony has released a new image of the real Ecto-2 from the set of Paul Feig’s upcoming film, confirming that the new vehicle is indeed very much real.

Ghostbusters is currently filming in Boston, but aside from the occasional paparazzi photo, we haven’t seen anything official from the upcoming reboot. That all changed today as director Paul Feig tweeted out a photo of the new costumes that will be worn by the leading ladies, and they look pretty great.

Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig’s forthcoming Lifetime movie A Deadly Adoption has had a winding road to completion, first leaking to the press, then (jokingly?) canceled over the report, then back on. Now, there’s no stopping A Deadly Adoption (or a speeding truck) as Lifetime releases the first dramatic footage.

The unfortunate and untimely death of the great Jan Hooks this past week sent the comedy world into mourning, with countless writers and comics stepping forward to pay tribute to the late 'SNL' star.
