As Led Zeppelin ramp up to the release of the next two albums in their deluxe reissue series, a new version of 'Houses of the Holy''s 'The Rain Song' has surfaced.
Francis Alexander Malofiy, a Philadelphia based attorney is representing the late Spirit guitarist Randy California filed a copyright suit against Zeppelin on May 31, claiming that the opening of "Stairway" was cribbed from an obscure instrumental called "Taurus" from Spirit's 1968 debut. At the time, Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page said, "This is ridiculous. I have no further comment on the subject."
Most Led Zeppelin fans probably weren't expecting Robert Plant to spend a ton of time listening to the current round of deluxe reissues that his former bandmate Jimmy Page has curated from the band's vaults, but he dispelled any doubts during a recent chat with Billboard.
