Riverton meteorologist Jason Straub said that the sudden smoke brought to Casper Wednesday evening is the result of a weather front pushing smoke from fires in Montana to Wyoming.
The weather service is expecting winds of between 15 and 25 miles per hour in the affected areas with gusts up to 35 mph. Humidity may get as low as 14%.
A wildfire in western Converse County burned roughly 250 acres and destroyed a home Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
First responders received reports of the fire at roughly 3:45 p.m.
