20 years ago today, in 1995, legendary disc jockey WOLFMAN JACK died of a heart attack at age 57. He passed away almost immediately after returning home from a promotional tour for his autobiography, "Have Mercy".  He walked into his house, hugged his wife, said "Oh, it is so good to be home...

I have fond memories of The Midnight Special, and all the amazing performances I got to witness on the late-night variety show. Created by Bert Sugarman, and hosted (usually) by Wolfman Jack, the show was a way to see the biggest names in rock, pop and comedy stars performing in front of a live audience.
