For 23 years, a magazine called "Improbable Research" has given out the IG NOBEL Prizes . . . to the stupidest and most comical advances in science throughout the year.  They're like what the Razzies are to the Oscars.

The awards were given out on Thursday night.  Here are some of the highlights.

The Ig Nobel prize in medicine went to a team in Japan that studied whether opera music helped mice recover from heart transplants.

The prize in psychology went to a team that found beer goggles don't just make you think ugly people are attractive . . . they also make you think you're more attractive than you are.

The peace prize went to Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, who made it illegal to clap in public . . . then had a one-armed man arrested for clapping in public.
