A report from the Pew Research Center found the so-called "digital divide"  between black and white Americans is narrowing due to smartphones. The study revealed 87 percent of white participants use the Internet, while only 80 percent of black Americans make the same claim. Black Americans over 50 and those who didn't attend college the difference is even more bare.

Smartphones are equally pervasive among blacks and whites in their 20's and or with a college education.  The "high speed access gap" is shrinking too due to the smartphone. One in ten black adults reported they're connected to broadband at home.

The usage of Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn was about the same, 40 percent of young black adults say they're on Twitter, compared to 28 percent of their white counterparts.

Smartphones( technology) is putting all Americans on the same digital footing!
