The River Remembers October 20, 1978- The Police Come to America

When one thinks of Rock and Roll, there are bands that immediately come to mind: The Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Queen, Kiss, Bette Midler, etc. But there is one band that belongs right next to them in the upper-echelon of music stardom. That band is The Police, and on this day in 1978, The Police made their US debut, appearing at C.B.G.B.S. in New York. They flew from the U.K. and used their instruments as carry-ons. You don't get more rock and roll than that.
