When the Fox Network launched 25 years ago, the “fourth network” was known more for its second run movies than its original programming. ‘The Simpsons,’ which is in its 23rd season, was one of the station’s first breakout hits and helped to make it the prime time powerhouse that it is today.

The Simpsons‘ celebrated Fox’s 25th anniversary Sunday night with a special message for its parent network. “Congratulations FOX on 25 years…We still love you,*” it read. But there was more.

It was the asterisk that’s getting all the attention because it was followed by a disclaimer that said “This doesn’t include Fox News.”

This isn’t the first time ‘The Simpsons’ has taken a swipe at its controversial sister station. In past episodes, ‘The Simpsons’ featured Fox News helicopters with the slogans “Unsuitable For Viewers Under 75″ and “Not Racist, But #1 With Racists.”

In response to those slams, Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly ripped ‘The Simpsons’ for “biting the hand that feeds part of it.” Will O’Reilly respond again this week? Stay tuned! (And does the headline grabbing bickering between ‘The Simpsons’ and Fox News count as corporate synergy?)
