One minute they were here, the next they were gone in a blink of an eye, disappearing into a vast land, never to be heard of again.  They made us laugh, they made us cry, sometimes they even made us sick to our stomachs!   They were songs that were hits, but not from those artists who spanned the test of time with countless hits, but from  artists who didn’t make it past that 1 song.   Those songs, that were very much a part of our past as those major hit makers, are commonly known as "One Hit Wonders!"

Today is national “One Hit Wonder” day, and it made me wonder about some of those songs like  “Bay City Rollers” with “S-A-T-U-R-D-AY NIGHT!”  Or, how adding a little “ooga chagga ooga ooga” that turned an already big hit from B.J. Thomas into a one hit wonder for a group known as “Blue Swede” with their version of “Hooked On A Feeling.”  Even Debbie Boone wallowing in her song “You Light Up My Life,” still has memories for me.  And of course you can’t forget  one hit wonders like  “The Night Chicago Died,” “Disco Duck,” and the theme from “Love Story.”  (I know, some of them nauseate me too, but they’re still fun!)

What “One Hit Wonder” do you remember most?
