In terms of age and maturity the Kelly Walsh Trojans football team is one of the youngest in the state. And last night the youth was evident as Cheyenne East (8-2) rolled over the Trojans (3-7) in the first round of the State 4A football play offs 57-27. East scored touchdowns on their first six possessions in the first half and never looked back. The Trojans didn't get on the board until the second quarter when Marcus Nolan ran for 14 yards and a key first down and then finished it off with a 3-yard touchdown run. Nolan, who finished with 84 rushing yards in his final game as a Trojan, would score his third touchdown of the night on a 42-yard run to pull Kelly Walsh within 50-27 in the second half but the night belonged to Cheyenne East. The T-Birds will play Gillette at home next Saturday for a berth in the 4A championship.
