A Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus officer has been shot and killed. The University is warning students to stay indoors while authorities search the campus.

CNN reported that multiple shots were fired near building 32 earlier tonight killing a campus officer. Police and FBI have surrounded the area and are searching for the gunman now.

The campus is adjacent to the city of Boston, and area residents have all been on edge, there is no information suggesting that this is connected to the Boston Bombings at this time.
