Back in the days you could be arrested and potentially charged with a felony for having a small amount of cannabis on you're possession. As Bob Dylan once said "the times they are a changing."

As the attitude towards the consumption of cannabis for recreational purposes begins to change another state has decided that it's just not criminal to allow indivudials to have a little weed on their person for individualized consumption.

Many states have decriminalized the consumption of small amounts of marijuana and now there is another state that have joined the group allowing it's people to possess a small amount of cannabis for recreational purposes joining 17 other states this luxury.

Vermont now becomes one of the states that has come to realize that consumption of cannabis is not a criminal offense. "This change just makes common sense," said Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, a Democrat. "Our limited resources should be focused on reducing abuse and addiction of opiates like heroin and meth rather than cracking down on people for having very small amounts of marijuana." http://us.news-republic.com/Web/ArticleWeb.aspx?regionid=1&articleid=9843585.

So if you're living in Vermont there are now reasonable laws governing the consumption of cannabis.
