Have you ever wondered why our Casper Police Department vehicles are different colors? If so, we have your answer, which isn't as complicated as you might think.

So why are are some of the squad cars blue and others are grey? According to a statement by Detective John Hatcher:

Ford made the decision to discontinue the blue color starting in 2018. There are around five different colors Ford offers to law enforcement.  CPD decided to go with the grey color.

What about the community service vehicles color? Why are they white? Det. Hatcher stated:

The reason our Community Service Officers drive white vehicles is to distinguish them as non-sworn police officers.

There you have it. There is no secret reason as to why our newer local police vehicles are grey. It's not to blend in or anything sinister.
