Casper drivers should be aware of a project to replace sections of deteriorating concrete on Wyoming Boulevard (WYO 258) between Old Glenrock Highway (Yellowstone) and Gannett Street on Casper’s east side, beginning Monday, March 19th.

WYDOT officials say traffic will be first be switched to the southbound lanes, one lane either direction plus a center turn lane, to allow for work on the northbound lanes. Once that's completed, traffic will be switched to the northbound lanes so they can start work on the southbound lanes.  The entire project will take is expected to take eight weeks to complete, depending on the weather.

Near Gannett Street, traffic switching and lane reductions will begin on the south end of the project and continue to near the Old Glenrock Highway. All business accesses will remain open.

Officials say this will cause traffic congestion throughout the area, especially at the intersection of Wyoming Boulevard and 2nd Street, as well as truck congestion in the area of Legion Lane. They suggest drivers use alternate routes during the work.
