Two California residents were arrested over the weekend after authorities allegedly found 168 pounds of marijuana in a rented moving van.

According to Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell, 27-year-old Jesse Marshall Davis and 22-year-old Kelsey Rae Hunsaker are each charged with felony drug possession, possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

Their U-Haul van was reportedly eastbound on I-80, some six miles east of Rock Springs, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Authorities stopped the van after it was seen "drifting all over the road," Lowell said in a statement.

A drug dog reportedly alerted to the presence of drugs in the U-Haul, which led officers to find some 147 separate vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana, which weighed 168 pounds in total.

As of Monday morning, Hunsaker and Davis remained in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center pending their initial court appearance.

Lowell says that in the past four months, K9 teams of the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office have made 19 felony drug arrests and seized over half a ton of marijuana, liquid marijuana, marijuana wax, heroin and methamphetamine, with a combined street value of well over $1.4 million.
