It's OK to go through life with a little skepticism in your back pocket. It may even save you money!

With the rise of the technological world, it seems like there is a rise in scams and fraud. It feels like with more technology around us, more dishonest people use that very same technology to scam innocent people out of their money. On the other side of that coin, we should have more resources at our disposal to protect ourselves.

That doesn't mean we don't still fall for these scams.

Truth be told, some states fall harder and more often than others. Your Local Security recently looked at scams across the nation and found which states are the worst and which are the best for sniffing out something that doesn't seem kosher. They also found that the most common scams across the nation are debt collection, imposter scams, and identity theft.

So who has the most incidents of fraud?

Florida takes the cake here. They were followed by Georgia, Nevada, Delaware and Michigan. Wyoming found itself on the other side of this list making us one of the best states for avoiding fraud. In fact, Wyoming is the 8th best state in the nation.

It looks like not answering the phone is finally starting to pay off!
